PELICAN POINT MEDIA TEAMS UP WITH RUSSELL PETERS AND GOOD360 TO LAUNCH INDIE GO GO FUNDRAISING CAMPAING TO AID FLINT, MICHIGAN

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – April 26, 2016

Pelican Point Media, through its Co-CEOs Jaclyn Ann Suri (Ripped, Cabin Fever: Reboot, Exposed, The Brits Are Coming), and Ike Suri (Ripped, Cabin Fever: Reboot, Exposed, The Brits Are Coming), is partnering up with world renowned standup comedian Russell Peters (Ripped, Chef, Source Code, Breakaway), to raise funds through a crowd sourcing campaign on Generosity by Indie Go Go to purchase and donate a solar powered water purification system to support the water needs of the citizens of Flint.

The system, made by WorldWater & Solar Technologies, Inc., will provide up to 30,000 gallons of potable water a day. Good360 will arrange for the system to be located at the Second Chance Baptist Church in the heart of the North end of Flint. The system will help supply the water needs for the neighborhood, including water for use with temporary showers that are currently being distributed to citizens in the community.

“The people of Flint need a reliable source of clean water beyond bottled water to help them meet their daily water needs as we come into the summer months,” say Jaclyn Ann Suri and Ike Suri, Co-CEOs of Pelican Point Media. “This WorldWater & Solar purification system is 100% solar powered, and has been used to help people impacted by Hurricanes Katrina and Sandy and the earthquake in Haiti. We are very humbled that our partners Russell Peters and Good360.org have agreed to join us in offering a temporary solution to the people of Flint.”

Pelican Point Media has raised $30,000, and is launching a fundraising campaign on Generosity by Indie Go Go to raise the additional $88,000 (which will be available for 501(c)(3) treatment) needed to purchase and ship the WorldWater purification system to Flint: https://www.generosity.com/emergencies-fundraising/solar-powered-water-filtration-system-for-flint–2

“I just got tired of nothing happening to help this situation”, says Russell Peters. “When Ike approached me with this opportunity of doing something not only positive, but game-changing, it was an easy decision. Providing up to 30,000 gallons of clean water a day is no drop in the bucket.”

“It’s wonderful to know so many people are thinking of Flint and the residents affected by the water crisis in our city”, said Dr. Karen Weaver Mayor of Flint, MI. “Relying on bottled and filtered water every day is not easy. We look forward to the day that we can trust the water coming from our taps is clean and safe to use. Until then, the water purification machine will provide residents, parents especially, with peace of mind. We thank Russell Peters for his support and appreciate Jaclyn and Ike Suri and Marvin Miller of Pelican Point Media for reaching out to their contacts at WorldWater & Solar Technologies, Inc. and leading this campaign, and for the generous donations from others helping to provide this resource to the City of Flint.”

Good360 is also raising funds for daily necessities for the people of Flint beyond water, you can find out how to help them in that effort here:https://good360.org/flint-michigan/
